Dear Eyjafjallajokull,

I think you have a lovely name. I love Sigur Ros and Bjork. I’m even listening to them now. I felt really sorry for your country when the arses fell out of your banks. I read a great article about your home country in Vanity Fair that made me feel terrible for the people that live around you. I was really sad to hear of the awful floods you causes when you melted those glaciers.

I’m due to go to see Julie Andrews on Saturday evening in London, England. I’ve loved her ever since I was a little kid and my mother sat me down in front of Mary Poppins and I didn’t get back up for a few days. My beloved bought me tickets to go see her for Christmas. I’m forever in his debt as a result, because the concert sold our really quickly and I wouldn’t have gotten tickets otherwise.

So, Eyja, if I can call you that - please stop erupting, if even just for a little bit. Let me get back to see Julie and have a nice week and I promise I will recind me threat to never visit your home country. I’ve always wanted to visit Reykjavik, but if you make me miss Julie I might be really angry and never spend my tourist money in your country. See, I love shitty touristy souveneirs, so from my own wallet I could help boost the economy just by visiting a few gift shops.

Please Eyjafjallajokull, any help you can give me in relation to this will be greatly appreciated by the 5 year old version of Jukebox Holidayer that has been waiting for this weekend (one way or another) for nearly 20 years.

I also sincerely hope that Eyjafjallajokull is paying attention right now, because as I type, my sister and father are stuck abroad in Spain and I miss them quite a bit. So pay attention to what Jukebox says, because if you don’t I promise that I’ll replicate all of the above threats and tell rotten lies about you behind your back.
